Remote Start suggestions?

Ive been looking to get a remote start for some1 as a gift for christmas. I just want the lock/unlock features and remote start, no alarm or anything. Ive looked at the viper ones, but there has to be a decent quality, good range remote out there somewhere, for less.

anyone have any other suggestions on brands/ places to look?

The car is a 97 GMC Jimmy and does not have a chip in the key so ill prob end up putting it in so, how hard is it to do the basic lock/ unlock and remote start?

thanks guys

Are there any that do that without the alarm feature? I got an ex-girlfriend a Viper one years ago and after you remote started the car, you need to unlock the doors with the remote or the car would die when you put the key in and put it in drive. It also wouldn't start unless you unlocked the doors with their remote. That means I couldn't go out with just a key and no remote and drive it. It actually turned into a bit of a hassle.

If I were you, I would just walk into a store that sells these systems and ask these questions about all their products. Tell them what you're looking for specifically.

Ive installed plenty of avitals which is basically a less expensive viper. Usually its around 200-250 installed and depending if you have a chipped key or not
