DSM motor swaps

So my sisters boyfriend recently blew up a 420a motor, can you put a 4g63 motor into it? Or would that invovle The whole GST/GSX front end?

Not worth it.

You'll need (dsm guys correct me if i'm wrong)

1)ECU
2)harness
3)complete 4G63 motor
4)tranny
5)fuel system
6)suspension components
7)Cross Member
8) Modify GS-t motor mounts

etc etc. Not a direct swap.

Absolutely nothing is the same between the two cars, making it more expensive to do the swap than to just go out and buy a real DSM. Unless you have bottomless pockets and like doing a ton of custom fabrication.

Which Evo 4G? There were more than one. If you're referring to the one that came in the VIII, again, anything is probably possible but would cost a whole lot of money. The motors face the opposite way, so it would take a whole lot of custom work to make it possible.

EVO V is the VIII/IX style of 4G63 so it's the same deal, oppositely mounted.

If they blew up a 420A and want to turbo and stay FWD, just build/boost the 420A. They're not horrible motors, they were just put in ****ty cars.

If they want the 4G63 or the AWD, just go find a real DSM. The swap has been done but it is in no way worth it! Unless you have some sort of centimental attachment to your Eclipse RS/GS
