So if my dog gets excited and you can clearly see two balls buldging is he neutered?

So I got this Black Lab a few months ago and I have a feeling that the pound lied to us and said he was fixed. He runs around being aggressive to all of the males and then is snout deep in my GF. He humps the **** out of her and red rockets her when he gets the chance. So today my GF tells me to come look at his man jewels. It looks like he clearly has two balls which have yet to descend when he gets worked up.

There are no scars or marks that we can tell which would mean he was surgically fixed. Is there a way to tell if he was fixed? There is no clear hanging scrot, just the two buldges where the balls should be at the base of the shaft.

I hope this doesnt get locked down and sent to the garbage bin, Im 100% totally for real.

I don't think he's neutered...my dog gets red rockets all the time, but he has no balls anymore.

He isn't neutered. If he was, they'd look like shriveled up grapes.

Depending on how old he is, neutering him might not change some of his behaviors. It's a hit or miss. Some dogs' behavior changes after, but the older they get, the more habits they keep. The male aggression is a more of a training issue rather than hormonal. The humping though, that can be attributed to the fact that he's intact.

If he isn't neutered, I strongly encourage you to have him neutered. No reason in the world to keep an intact dog if you're not a breed enthusiast who shows and breeds their dogs. That's how accidents happen and I'm sure you're aware of the dog over population problem.

But really, the shelter you got him from should be paying for his neutering especially if you entered into a contract that promised he'd be fixed.

^Thats the thing, they said he was fixed. So I assumed he was, the vet hasn't brought it up though and I hate to pay to have the vet tell me if he was shooting blanks.

its probably more of a tranning issue. When I got my dog, she humped everyone and she was a female puppy lol. its just a dog thing and you need to train him out of it. As far as aggression, he probably wasnt raised meeting other dogs, so he doesnt know how to act, and your probably letting him be the pack leader.

I could care less about the humping, he doesnt put it on my arm or anything. He does think hes Alpha male and I give him a good knuckle rub in the rib cage when he jumps up on me or just grabs ahold of my forearm. He'll leave me alone for a hour and come back and just clamp down on my arm again.

It sounds like he's probably neutered. But just call your vet and ask them how you can tell.

Where exactly are the "two balls"? Dogs get a knot at the base of the penis/shaft when they get hard so they can tie with a female when breeding. If you adopted him, I'm sure the shelter would have neutered him before hand.

Depending on how old he was when he was neutered, his sack should have become just skin by now.

I have never had a dog myself, only when my parents got dogs when I was little. I know it's probably best to get a dog neutered, but if I ever get my own dog I don't know that I'd be able to drive him to the vet to get his balls cut off.

lol, Aaron, but by letting him hump you, is showing your a lesser then him, which could lead to more issues. Like with my dog, she wont dare hump me, wont even attempt, but strangers, she will. its cause there showing there leadership, but know that im the TOP DOG. It will solve alot of his behavoir issues as well, cause hes probably aggressive to them, to protect his pack. If he knows your the leader, hell calm down
