I was behind this Tiburon last night, and the steam/smoke was only coming from one of the dual-exhaust tips. Are they all truly dual-exhaust?

well i believe there is an inline 4 and v6 model...
so maybe it was an inline 4 model with two tips?

Yes they are truly dual exhausts but stock those cars run rich. I think I had this discussion with Tom (TibbyRacer2K4) and he told me that even the 4 cylinder versions are dual exhausts not tips. So IDK good question

Every picture I can find for a Tiburon V6 exhause looks like this. One pipe, two mufflers.

It's early stfu and I am ebaying exhausts for the 4 cylinder versions but no luck as of yet.

But as for the V6 versions they are truly dual exhaust.

IMHO they aren't "truly" dual exhausts, because the car has a collector that all of the primaries go to (even the v6) so it's really just a split exhaust, and not true dual.

So then why do the V6 versions have two headers then...? I don't get how it's NOT a TRUE dual exhaust when they have piping from each header, two cats, and two mufflers?

I think both the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder exhausts are the same.

Which I still don't get? If you have 4 cylinders, it's like breathing in with a straw breath then exhaling through two large tubes. I would think it's too much flow.

yea i would think the headers would indicate 'true' dual exhaust... what i was suspecting on said tiburon was possible that it was a 'dummy' muffler... not even hooked up to even a splitter... who knows! next time i see it i'll run it off the road and check it out

could be like the R32 and have a vacuum actuator foro the second pipe....

The V6 has two headers that merge, then separate before the mufflers. The I4 just separates before the mufflers.

IMO, a "true" dual exhaust consists of independant piping for each set of headers.

That would actually be funny to have a dummy muffler considering that is just an extra 10-50lbs worth of nothing.

I get what you are saying, but then I guess in the same aspect...
Twin turbos are not truly twin because the piping leads to ONE intercooler? haha j/k and trying to be a pest.

And Ash: Hunt down that Tibby you saw and when you run him off the road make sure the exhaust gets knocked off so you can see what the dealy is.
