Why???

Ok this is hella random, but i just stopped and wondered this... why on earth are we legally allowed to drive fast cars on the street. I mean the highest national speed limit is like +-75mph so, why the f*ck am i allowed to have a car that can easily double that speed even with my restrictor still active? and why are cars that can accelerate so fast that they can surpass the highest speed limit in like 3 or 4 sec street legal at all? cars like ferraris, corvettes, Sti's etc, anything overly fast. their sole purpose is to drive faster. space and practicality wise, there isnt anything that a base impreza cant do that an sti can. The sti can just do all that and can do 155, and 0-60 in <5sec, and can take a corner at a insane speed. the later of which are ALL illegal. Also in our country, cop cars cannot even begin to compete with this type of performance. (yes i know u cant outrun a mottorolla, but 1 on 1, the cop has noooo chance). Its like the hollywood bank robbery where the police only had little pistols, and the robbers had AK47s and sh*t and body armor, and ate the cops up for a looong time, until, by a couple of devine influenced happenings, the robbers were brought down.

Now i am not AT ALL in favor of laws restricting our cars, because that IS completely unconstitutional and would be mad gay. I am merely just asking why. Just take a minute to think about it. Because, in theory, a cop should pull over anyone in a high performance car, because those types of cars are meant to do things that are Highly illegal. And thank god for due process, and the need for proof of wrong doing, which both stop this from happening

well...people drive on other things other than public roads....the track for example. Rather than having a project and a DD they have both in one, a street legal car that is capable of demolishing the speed limit as well as a car that can compete off the public road.

Damn, u two honda guys sure dont know much. I musta really pissed u both of on other threads. Well, i'll tell u how Sti's compare. I have personally beaten both types of cars for one thing. A C5 vette and an F355B. And we are talking about performance here, so if u both want to go check on a site like supercars.net and look at the specs on all 3 of these cars, ud find that stock for stock their performance is VERY similar. Now, in my example, i was showing fast cars from all three sections of the world the have big auto industries. Would u have rather i said a swaped dsm civic with nitrous and the VTEC, over an sti, which is a car whose racing version has won WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS. hmmm, some how i dont think the HONDA civic can stack up to that pedigree. Now u guys are either completely ignorant to anything but hondas, or ur just tryin to piss me off. I really dont care because we've already had this argument many times over, and its really getting old.

Oh and btw... there are actually many types of ferraris and corvettes. In fact, idk if u know or not, but there are currently 3 types of ferraris on the market as new, and ferrari has been making road cars since around 1950. So the correct thing to do when someone says they have beaten a ferrari, is to ask what type it was. because they could have just raced a Mondial which is an embarrassment to all other ferraris, sh*t, ur VTEC may even work against one of those. Now if i said id beaten an Enzo, then id obviously be full of sh*t. So the next time u both wanna make a stupid remark, please do ur homework first so u don't look like retards. and if ur just here to start sh*t, please stfu, but if u must F with me, then please at least make a legit point.

And TROLL, how do i change the title?

You're restrictor goes up to 150mph? Easily? You're car goes up to 150mph? **** the sti being gods chariot, sounds like you're civic has that title on lockdown.

Edit: I'm assuming you have a civic since thats what it says under your name

you make it sound like the mondial is so prevalent and common on the roads these days. back when they where making a good money for ferarri in the early to mid 90s they where popular, not to much anymore. Even you with your e-thug attitude knows that when someone says ferrari, sport car comes to mind, not the low grade everyday car.

apples to oranges. you cant compare an awd turbocharged car to a 130hp n/a fwd economy car. thats like comparing a yamaha/honda/suzuki cruiser bike to a 1000rr/gixxer/busa

you want the answer? because speeding tickets generate the revenue that keeps our country going. if there werent any, each state and the country as a whole would be screwed.
