You're going to like the camera a lot. I've had one for a while now, and as long as you can shoot at ISO 800 and below, you're in good shape.

Thanks guys! Yellow: That'd be fun. I have only held one for about 1 minute and never shot it. Crazy! So I feel like a damn newb again haha. Which 5D did you get? Mark III?

Rich: Oh I know! I am not too worried. I normally shoot 100-200 ISO. In some dark condition's I'll run up to 800, but that's my max really. I'm keeping my D70s as a backup body, so I'll still have high ISO capability

Yeah I wish I picked up a D2X when I was shopping for a camera, but I got the D200 for such a steal I couldn't even complain. Now of course its not a steal of a price, but oh well. Really nice camera and should be fun to shoot with.

I gotcha, sounds good. Supposedly it takes approx 1000 clicks to get used to the D2x 'cause of it's weight. Lots of "blurry" shots for those first 1000 or so. Sounds like a fun time.

D200's are nice. I was going to go that route, then I figured I'd get some more $ for the D90.. then I compared it to a D300 that I use daily at work, then I figured I wanted a pro body, so the D2x was my decision.

The camera finally shipped out on Friday via the Postal Service and should be here within 2-3 bus days. I can't wait.. it's like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. I don't need Christmas presents this year or a birthday present next year.. and I'd still be happy lol.

^ Ha I felt like that with my D200 in the mail, although another reason I got it was I picked it up used and the guy lived in NJ as well. That always makes things a little bit more easy on the decision. But yeah I don't see why the weight would have that much of an issue. I'm not sure if the D200 is that much more lightweight when it has a battery grip, but when I shot my first 1000 pictures they weren't blurry. I think you'll be fine with the camera. Nice pickup again.

Yah I mean my D70s has a battery grip/vertical shutter release on it. I love it. Supposedly something with the D2x having a 1.5x magnification versus whatever "normal" is? I don't know enough about that.

All Nikon DSLR's, less the D3 and D700, have a 1.5x crop factor

I don't know where you got that first 1000 shots will be blurry, but you'll be fine

Pro body FTW
I'll never go back

You may be talking about the D2x "high speed crop" feature. When this is enabled, the 1.5x crop factor is bumped up to 2x crop and uses the center of the sensor with a reduced MP count of 7.1 I think. I've used it a couple times to get higher frame rates. 5fps is slow when you are used to shooting 9fps.
