VOTERS... Did your polling place check ID?

Vote in the poll for how your identity was verified. I'm seeing an alarming trend....

In my location and a few others...people are only being asked to state their name and then sign next to it in a log book.... basically...anyone could say anyones name as long as they are registered in that area. That seems.... oddly lax to me.

My place asked only for my first and last name. No address to verify or anything

i did mine via absentee - but i know if you don't scan a copy of your drivers license and it's your first time voting (which it was for me) your vote won't count. so, photocopied my drivers license and mailed it in with it.

yeah they only asked for name and the guy in front of me questioned it quite a bit, and rightfully so. i'm pretty surprised that they dont ask to even see a license or id card... so simple and would cut down on the possibility of fraudulent votes greatly.
really doesnt make sense at all...

I took my voter card and just handed it to her... it seemed like the other people were being ID'd as well. the whole voting process took me about five minutes.

My place asked my name then looked me up in their book. Then pointed to my name and asked if that was it. When I said yes they asked if the address and birthdate next to it were also mine. I said yes, they told me to sign. That was it.

I had my card and license - I'm a first time voter. But, the lady in front of me, who was like 40, didn't have ID and they wouldn't let her vote. She was voting at the same place she always had, but she had moved...further down the street she already lived on. IDK.

I had t present ID because I just moved there in April, so it was my first time voting int he district. In the book next to my name it even said "ID REQUIRED". Everyone does not have to show ID.

Being new to the district and a few other reasons could prompt them to ask for your ID.

they asked for my id and then got mad at me because my address wasn't the same on my lic as it was on my voter card. i gave the the card that the state gave me when i moved to my house. and on my new vote card it had my new address and my lic had my old address. they let me vote anyway

They asked me for everything. A few of my friends who went to different voting stations said they just asked verbally. First time voting here and it felt great!

Constitutionality of asking for ID's when voting:

http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/ande...uirements.html

And for the record, I was not asked, except I did sign my name

I was asked for my license. She didn't really varify anything, though. Just looked to see if I actually had it.

I had that written under my signature line in the little book -- ID REQUIRED, cause I'd just moved into a new township. And the lady still did NOT ask me for ID. And when I mentioned it to her, she just kinda shrugged. I wanted to tell her that she's the reason **** gets messed up with the votes -- but I figured making a scene wouldn't be the brightest idea.

I expected people to be very strict, considering the importance of this election .. but apparently not.
