Bluestreaks's Silver 01 Galant V6

Figured I would start my own journal so here it is. I know its no monster on the road, but I like buying a platform like this and building it to go beyond everyone's expectations.

I owned a 99 Galant that was stripped on the streets of NYC, summer of 06. Sad but it gave me a chance to redo another Galant but better. Here she was:

I put the car back together but sold it to my father-in-law and bought my 01 Galant in Nov of 06 and have done a few things since then. Here she is bone stock the day I picked her up

1 week later I tinted the windows and eliminated the 4x4 look. So I went w/ Megan Racing Coilovers. Also added a Injen short ram intake and a RRE FSTB

The result:

Lucky at the time the car was stripped, I had my rims off so I took my old rims and put them on this car. I also added 2nd Gen JDM tail lights.

In Jan of 07 I put on JDM head lights (H7 LOW / H1 HIGH) and a viento JDM grill.

Later that month I decided to change my stereo. I drive alot down to MD and stuff so I wanted navigation. So I purchased a Pioneer Z1 deck and custom molded it into my dash since its a double-din.

In Feb. I decided I wanted to go FI this time around. So I did my homework and looked around for parts. I came upon some great deals at club3g.com and purchased a fully built motor (6g72), and a turbo kit. I will take pics of the turbo kit later. But for now here is the engine.

Ripp Head gaskets
CP 8:5:1 Pistons
Crower Rods
Block has been bored, dipped, and decked
Crank has been polished and balanced
Clevite bearings and rings
New Oil Pump
fully built heads
perforemance cams

Engine will go in w/ the turbo in the beginning of May. Just need to purchase a few things like boost gauge, something to tune w/, etc.

Until then my car has been in the body shop getting my new kit put on. The car should be ready b4 the end of the week but here are the most recent pics and the parts.

JDM Dolphin Aeroform Legnum front bumper
JDM Fender Flares
Cyber 1 Side Skirts
Cyber 1 Rear

Thanks! To think I'm not even close to being finished. So much work to get done...but one day at a time.

Looks good so far and I can see where everything is going. And not many people “do up” the Galants the right way. Keep it up.

What’s your target number in terms of whp?

To start I'm looking for 250whp. I bought the engine from someone very reliable so I'm sure its capable of 300+. Just not ready to get there yet. A 250whp Galant will be a beautiful thing since they are far and few.

Both of your cars and BOTH of your kits (I NEVER thought I'd ever say that) look badass.

Those wheels fit that car PERFECTLY!

Man, I give that front bumper 3 weeks before it cracks! Nice Galant, btw. Since it's a vee engine, are you going twin turbo? I used to own a vr-4 and there were only a handful of single turbos out there.

Yeah, it is pretty low. I’d raise it a little for the bumper’s sake.

I'm going out now to raise my car. It won't crack though hopefully after I bring it up some more. I know my car is dumped right now LOL. I'm using a single turbo. no twin since a VR4 engine won't go in my car w/o some serious modifications. I already have a turbo kit sitting here and my fully built engine that needs to go in. Just have 2 find the time to get it done.

might as well throw a 5spd in while you pulling the engine to turbo it right?

I'm debating if I want to do the 5spd swap. I would love the fun of driving a 5spd but I'm a lazy bastard and a built auto tranny looks so good right now LOL. I still have time to figure it out though. I'm pretty sure ill wind up going 5spd....so I won't kick myself later.
