Buying back your old car

Well last year I got out of the rotary game. I sold my last FC, non-running, for $600. The guy was going to swap a v8 into it. I just found it on craigslist, still the same way I sold it to him, only he is asking $1500. Now I'm sure all rotary guys know this guy is out of his mind trying to get $1500 for a non running S4 NA fc. I'm thinking of offering him $500 since I know what is wrong with it and everything. Anyone think it's worth it? It's an 87 Sport. Okay, enough rambling. I guess this thread is more about, anyone ever buy back an old car? Or did you let it go? Could this be worth it? I think I would take parts off for my little bro's t2 and part out the rest.

ehh not really.... I havent been a fan of N/A rotarys since i experinced the rx7 stores 20b ... but the fc is a very solid platform... so depending on the condition of the chassis....it might be.

It was my 3rd fc. My little brother has my old T2. If I could get it running for cheap and have a good DD for under $1k, I guess it would work. I'm not a fan of rotarys anymore at all. But I am currently carless and we have a ****load of t2 parts still that we can use.

S4 N/A's are meh, its the slowest and crappiest. I'm selling my S5 Gtu though :p. Its in roller status though now, but since you have parts you can probably finish it right away, needs springs and struts or coilovers, exhaust and a trans, pretty damn clean , original s5. Loads of new crap on it, including TII brakes, new pads, SS lines, lsd diff, mazdaspeed motor & tranny mounts, all redone subframe and diff bushings.

/ end hijack

What does your old s4 need to be driveable?

offer him less, since if the car's been sitting for that long, its prob got more issues than when you sold it to him. That said, i'd take an S4 NA over an S5 NA cause they're lighter, have the metal thermostat necks and rear swing arm end links, and in general havent been cost-cut as much as the S5's.

Well like I said before, I'm done with them, I don't want to build them, I was only interested in this one because it IS my old car which I sold to him. I am definitely offering him less then what I sold it to him for because it's been sitting for awhile now. Yes I know about s4's pros and cons, sorry but I'm not buying another one. This one is only up cause I previously owned it and I know if I got it I can dd it for now for a cheap car, or sell it running, or even part it out. It's 5 lug, t2 brakes, one of the lightest models, no sunroof, etc. Body is rust free. Not to mention I spent $400+ on new tires a week before it ran into problems and I sold it to him.
