Just thought I'd share because I think this is truly incredible. I've known about the Burj al-Arab and Burj Dubai, but seeing everything in pictures puts it in a little more persepective.
I would have never put anywhere in the UAE on my short list of places to visit but certainly wouldn't mind ending up here in the next few years.

been to dubai last december
all i got to say is
they have soo much money they rice out ferrari's
i saw a 360 spyder with a double decker spoiler and red neons

Jealous of you guys that have been or are going. Sure, they may have "more money than sense," but they're doing cool ****.

The Burj Dubai is downright ridiculous, and the next one they're starting on is going to be 1200m tall. That's 3/4 of a mile... tall. I can't imagine standing next to something three times the size of the Empire State Building and looking up!

I really want to stay at the Burj al-Arab though. Having your own personal wait staff, a "menu" of 13 different pillows, and not just a room, but two-story suite in a "seven star" hotel that looks like a sailboat and is on a man-made island. Wretched excess never sounded so good.
They're building the world's largest indoor skiing area. If they construct a wave pool that actually doesn't suck, and I'd imagine they'd be the only ones crazy/wealthy enough to do so, I am going. No question.

The little pad sticking out is a tennis court. Awesome.

It's actually a helipad, but still badass they've used it as a tennis court. And driving range.

edit: It's roughly a $1k US per night for one of the mid-range suites.

Dubai is amazing. I saw a show on building and they were doing Giorgio Armani's place. Looks sick. Gas is also like 12 cents/gallon over there or something like that lol
