I just got the new metallica album 'death magnetic'

so far it's pretty awesome, kind of reminds me of some of their old stuff. they're back with the long ass solos like they used to do. absolutely nothing like the st. anger album was. gotta love 7-9 minute long songs too..

what do you people think of it?

I just shook my head after I heard it. I so so so so so so wanted it to be good. They were the band that got me into heavy music oh so many years ago.... But as usual...lars' uninspired, mediocre drumming ruins it. He's played the same drum fills for 5 albums now. <sigh> I will force myself to listen to it a few more times.... but i'm sure i'll make the same frowning face when the drums come in as I did the first time.

Ignore the drums, and focus on the guitars and bass. Christ, use a pencil to play the drums, it's 1000000x better.

So far i've heard a live cut of Cyanide, My Apocalypse, and The Day that Never Comes. All so far I've liked which is a good sign! Metallica is back on track!

Hearing the new song that was released..... I still don't think I am impressed from this new record...

But, I will acquire it, and give it a full listen, and see if it is any good to me.

The Day song is terrible. The rest of it is brilliant, and it's on a loop on my iTunes.

It's called the internet. Trust me, it's out there. It's on my iPod though b/c I's paranoid, even though they said it didn't really matter. They're going to make hand over first with this- hell, I've had it preordered and won't be cancelling.

I actually just listened to "the day that never comes' really loud in my car on my way home from work and it was pretty awesome. the solos are so kickass
