Scott Lindenbaum & AutoStrada - Lying Thieves!

I'm posting this here for reference so all can see the abbreviated version of what I've been through with my car.

I purchased my 2004 SRT-4 in late May 2006. It was listed by AutoStrada in an eBay auction. The following parts were listed in to auction but were not actually included on the car: (this is a direct copy/paste from the auction)
  • Mopar Stage 3 Turbocharger/manifold
  • Mopar Stage 2 Performance Upgrade
  • AGP Frontmount Intercooler
  • AGP Fuel Pressure Regulator
  • Mopar 255lph Fuel Pump
  • Mopar Stage 2 (672cc/min) Injectors
  • Mopar Stage 3 Fuel Rail
  • MSD Ignition System
  • Greddy Type-S Blow Off Valve
  • 400 HP and a 11.7 1/4 mile time

Me not knowing the parts like I do now, I fell for it. The car did not have any stage 2 parts on it, had the stock turbo, a ebay intercooler, ebay BOV, no ignition system, and a very bad tune. (the car dynoed at 206hp after fixing some bad boost leaks)

Scott Lindenbaum of PA is the original owner of the car. He sold the car to AutoStrada of Bensalem, PA. AutoStrada is the used car dealer that put the car on eBay with the parts listed that Scott gave them

Right after I purchased the car I noticed a couple things were funny. As I started to dig deeper I found that things were missing.

I contacted AutoStrada and they basically said that I would have to talk to Scott. I did. I asked him about the injectors, and the fuel pump. He said that he must've given AutoStrada the wrong list and that he did take some things off of the car before selling it He said he would try to find some of them for me. A week goes by, nothing, two weeks, I call him. He said he'd call me back, he doesn't, etc etc.

At this point I'm trying to get AutoStrada to do something. I left them negative feedback on eBay because they weren't returning my calls, and I was starting to get impatient. Right after I did this I get a call from the GM. He says we'll get things taken care of and also get the negative feedback removed. To make another long story short, I basically get the same run around from them, they do nothing, and they no longer have negative feedback.

So, after 6 months of owning the car, I've pretty much put on the car what was supposed to be on it to begin with, and I haven't heard from
AutoStrada or Scott Lindenbaum. In all, the parts missing, if I were to buy them, would be around $4000, not including any kind of installation or shipping

Scott Lindenbaum is a lying theif. He owns a car detailing business.

AutoStrada does not know what they are selling, and did not help with any part of this matter.

I will not say anything regarding legal matters since my lawyer is already involved.

Buying a modified car is risky to begin with. I hate to say it, but you should have done some more research before buying the car, as well as going to visit it (if you didn't) so that you knew exactly what you were getting.

That's not an excuse though. IMO, it is the job of the seller to properly represent the car that they are selling. Their first mistake was posting the modification list that the former owner provided to them.

I am actually surprised that the dealership told you to talk to the former owner when you found out the some of the parts were missing. As far as I would be concerned, if I sold a car to a dealership my obligations to the new owner are non-existent. Are the dealership and the previous owner business partners?

The whole thing seem like some shady stuff! Good luck!

Thanks man. I'm always wrenching on the car. I usually go to my parents house in jersey to work on it, but if anyone has a little more expertise on things like cams and transmissions, I'm all ears

Yep, you're right, I should've.

The problem is, the car was on ebay, and I accepted it. They said I could've denied it. I signed an 'as is' paper, but all that really says is that I can't come to them when something breaks. Misrepresentation is a different story.

The dealership and the previous owner were business partners for a short time. When Scott sold the SRT to them, he purchased an evo 8. I got the impression that he detailed some of their cars, but than flaked out. I also get the impression that he likes to lie, and flake out on a lot of stuff. He lied straight to me on the phone, and I knew it.

i'll tell you a couple things, put a few mods on, run it, put a few more on, run it again, try to get the best out of your money and get the best time for your money. my times are proven that you don't need an engine or headwork to get 1/4 mile times, from my trap alone, it shows it has a good 11.1-11.2 run in it. i've seen other people with all the engine work done running the same thing. it's all about the driver. the stock trans is fine is your a good driver, so you shouldn't have to mess with it unless you put a clutch in (hench only removing and replacing)

That stinks. It sounds like you are between a rock and a hard place. Hopefully if you keep fighting you can at least get some of what you were promised!

Oh, I know: http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310353

That's not the turbo I got with the car

The stock clutch is going, it's slipping like hell, so I have a DCR one ready to go. 3-4 syncro is also going. Have that ready to go in as well.

i agree, i was told this aswell , when i was evo shopping they told me oh we have an srt-4 here, with stage 3 and all this bs, i told the guy is funny because my shop specializes in srt and we have done all the work to this car and all it has is a boost controller and an emanage which i believe the boost controller and an emanage was removed with vacum lines missing and a whole bunch of bs . we infact also had the car tuned and making some decent power but i believed things were yanked out before the trade in

btw car missfires once it hits 18 psi

^ Word! I talked to you at Carlisle and told you what was "really" on the car. But I believe all of the blame lies in the lap of Autostrada. They sold the car to you, not Scott.

Scott screwed them over and they should approach him to settle their beef with him, and they should make things right with you because you are the buyer from them!
