Seller avoiding me, holding parts I rightfully own.

I bought my car from a kind of flakey guy. Nice guy don't get me wrong just ZERO business ethics. Older, owns his own shops and such supposedly. He will not return any calls or emails for weeks now. He owes me a fendor, bumper, and wing.

These are parts that prevent me from driving legally for an inspection. Im not sure how to approach this. I know where some of the parts are and there are times I just want to go over there and just take them as they are mine.

I have a signed paper showing he owes me these parts among others.

He is aware im going to school soon and i have a good feeling he's trying to avoid me thinking ill let it go.....i just don't have time for this to go to court...

what should i do?

Also, one of the cars i was supposed to get parts from is being held by a tow truck company, would i have any right to go there and ask to take these parts and they keep the car since he refuses to pay them anyway?

Just to make sure we're on the same page, Sarge can try to help clarify laws in general and how they may apply to you, but he is not here to give legal advice. I don't know what kind of answer you're looking for here, but just wanted to post that little reminder.

^well, i was more just trying to clear up whether i have a right to go take what's mine if its on his property. Or if i could call cops and tell them he has my property and they assist me in retrieving it...something along those lines

I would advise you to call the local police and have them meet you there you have arighth to the parts if you paid for them . BUT this is a civil matter and the police can not make this guy give you the parts then you would have to file with small claims court.
