My 1991 nissan 240sx(New rims)

Well first I took out my stock intake because I really don't need it if its not gonna be running, and ill get my intake RIGHT after the trans goes in..Replaced some screws...Then when i took my intake out..the fan shroud was able to be puled out so i had to bolt that in with new bolts.

There was SO much oil and grim under the intake box from when someone left the dipstick pulled out and it sprayed EVERYWHERE!!!

What hoses that go into the intake should i remove or none? and is there anymore intake parts under the car?

New Bolt(not gonna show both sides.)

started cleaning:

somewhat done:

Old screws:

New Screws:

Old Parts:

MAF^^

Battery Tray:

Engine Bay:

What the hell do i do with this thing when i get the new intake in?(under this)
The thing next to the P/S Pump

REMOVED EMISSIONS THING AND HEAD SHEILD

Removed my heat shield.

I get so excited seeing 240 projects because I've helped with so many in the past. I know more about Nissan now then Subaru. I see your engine bay and im like I just want to clean it, paint it, and work on it.

As far as the 5-speed swap you have the trans only right now? Don't let anyone tell you that you need a manual break pedal and the shifter panel because you can use what you already have. The break pedal you have can be cut and will not be awkward looking or feeling. You'll need the break pedal pad (rubber cover) from a 5 speed though for use and to use as a pattern for the cut. It will save you a big headache doing this. The shifter panel you just need to take out the "Drive, reverse, N" plastic piece from it.

As for the clutch master cylinder BEWARE of the ebay cheap ones. the shaft going into the cabin on the one we had was to short for some reason. You could luck out but I think they are universal ones being labeled for Nissan by the poster)

The intake if I’m correct has a resonator box under the car directly where the intake box itself was. You’ll see a hole going down and a tube coming out of it. Its where the stock side mount intercooler goes on SR20det cars.) Take off your front driver side wheel, and then wheel liner and you’ll see it towards the front sitting there just waiting to be thrown out.

Hopefully JDM WILL (a member on here) sees this. He will be able to help you out a lot better then me. The wiring I didn’t do for the 5-speed but if I’m correct the wiring you see coming from the shifter area can go.

Also be sure to check out 240sx forums along with the links below (elitejdm.com for parts and info)

Dam I need a new project!! It hurts

Well, i had Reese from DN helping me out. But hes getting ready for drift season, So i don't think he'll help me out anymore..And yeah i am just gonna cut the brake pedal. Only reason i stopped working is cause im moving next friday. So I'm just gonna stop for now, its getting towed on a dolly friday..

TEKU:The rims are a little bit beat up. but not tood bad. I've seen ALOT worse ones, haha. We might be able to play with the price if you want.

If you haven't already done it do a search for write ups on the manual swap. There are a ton of great write ups for it. Read them all (some are for s14s or verts but its basically all the same thing) and decide which way is the best for you. The write ups literally take you through it step b step and make it a breeze. Just remember to take your time so you don't have to do it twice.

If you read through the write ups and still have some questions feel free to pm me. I did my swap a little over a year ago and remember it pretty well.

What type of intake are you getting? I got an ebay CAI, and I was able to use everything the oem intake used. IMO you should keep the headers heat shield on. It makes your engine bay alot hotter without it.

Here are some decent 5 speed swap guides. (although one is for a s14, it may still help)

Looks like good progress is being made....Nice little build....I wasnt minding the blue calipers until you put the new bronze rims on....

Do you plan on keeping them blue or since you swapped rims did you want to repaint them? Just curious
