Compression test results...can it be too high?

So today me and Keeper1434 (i missed the numbers) did a compression test on my engine. All of the cylinders came out within 5psi of each other which I am happy about (cause ive been drving hard i thought there were some problems possible) but I checked online to see the compression that its supposed to have a saw 135psi. All of my cylinders checked out between 195 and 200

Is something wrong here?? Maybe the gauge is inaccurate, and several people told me as long as all cylinders are the same I shouldnt worry, but I just want to make sure.

Take the numbers lightly, it's more important that they are within 5% of each other.

having the numbers be close is most important, but the fact that your numbers are off by so much means something isnt right. its most likely that you dont have the proper specs for your engine, but another possibility would be excessive carbon buildup in the cylinders. i'd guess you're not referencing the right specs though...

Your numbers are high because you cranked the car over way too many times. If you didnt have blow-by before Im sure you do now

i dont think the compression will continue to rise if you crank it over too much... i've never kept going, but it sure seems to level off after a few cranks.

hate to say it, but if you honestly believe that cylinder pressures are under 200psi on the combustion stroke you may/may not be retarded. Cranking it over until it maxes out might not be as accurate but it is much easier for a novice to interpret those numbers. They wont show minor cylinder wear, but they will deffinately show any major problem.

not dissing you in anyway but how could it produce blow by??? most of the pressure would just exit the valves right???

Their would be no scaveging affect in the exhaust. If you really cranked it that much not all of the pressure would escape depending on where your at on the stroke. 200psi isn't going to do anything though. I was always told to crank it 5-6 times and get your reading. Were you guys at least holding the throttle open?

Now that I looked on other sites it says that compression should be 165...and another says 175

here is something from the civic forums
