i'm not quite sure why i've never made a thread here... but better late than never i guess.

bought it back in july of 09 (from TST member, Flaps720), looking like this (w/ 77,xxx miles):

prior to buying this, i owned a yellow mazda mp3, pictured here:

sold the OEM wheels, picked up a real clean set of MSP racingharts/some new black headlights:

ended up selling the mp3, but keeping the black headlights (and the MSP racingharts - i switched them with the ones that were currently on the silver MSP, because i liked the 03 (silver) look better than the 03.5 (gunmetal)... so i made the transfer over to my MSP... also made some small, but worthy fixes all around the car to make it cleaner, (new grille, new interior parts, new OEM seats (bought justinlandale's old ones)... example:

at this point, everything was running pretty well, but i decided to chance it up a bit. bought/installed a 3" custom downpipe, that made it sound a little bit meaner. kept the HKS exhaust though... then ended up selling the set of MSP racingharts & picking up a set of OEM 09 mazda miata wheels - loved the way they looked...

then got it tinted up @ shades of gray:

got new breaks all around, new starter (old one was starting to go, so i just replaced it)... also bought this guy from mazda247's "bumper-sag fix kit" to keep the front bumper in place better... then found this lip online and copped it.

Sept 2012 -

retrofit headlights, blacked out w/ flat silver e55 shrouds, bi-xenon morimoto mini H1 projectors & xB LED halos

How is the motor reacting to that downpipe and front mount?

not the most... haha

i have pretty much all the bolt ons that the stock motor can handle... tuned at 9psi. a lot of MSP owners tend to have problems when they are boosting over that (unless they got a built motor), so i never messed with it. my guess would be 225whp max... i believe i'm in the 215 range.

well when i bought it, the turbolife FMIC was already installed. it ran fine, but i could tell there was a littleee bit of hesitation at higher RPMs... but after i put the new downpipe on, it was sort of like the missing piece & made everything run great. i've really had zero problems since, and the MSP is my DD... taken down 476 twice a week from lansdale to chester.

Great looking car. I've always liked these.
