My wifes 6 month old 4gig nano stopped working last night...dead...never dropped...always handled with care....dead...no warning...just dead... i have a couple year old Creative player...no problems....my 30 gig zen....no problems ....moral of the story...no more apple for me. I have a 30 gig ipod too...surprise...it doesn't work right either.

its all because you connect them to pc's, pc's gave them the virus which intern detonated them internally. Moral of story buy a mac computer and you will never have a problem.

LOL i play! although i have had my 60gig video for 3 years Never a problem.

None of my ipods(I buy a new one every time they get smaller) EVER gave me a problem when I was using a MAC computer. As soon as I got a PC.....they never work right.

My Ipod Touch Died in 1 day when the first came out. When they asked if i wanted another i said please just give me my money back.

I hate Sony products for this reason too (well, some of them). I had a PSP that lasted all of 6 days before the spring in the power switch decided to come off. The guy at Gamestop (actually, my store manager, I worked there), offered me a new one. I kindly said no thanks, I want my money back.

This is exactly how I handle my Ipods and I have had no problems.

Edit: Wait I had to reset the one when I didn't use it for a while. That's it.

Luck of the draw I guess... Every...and I mean EVERY Creative product i've owned sucked... Wife has a 4th Gen Photo Ipod and I have 5th Gen Video Ipod... Zero issues.

Just a quick question...did you try everything? Ipods freeze/don't start sometimes, idk why, but if u hold down the center button for like 10 seconds they usually come back to life.

LOL...i just found out how to reset it and it works. I'm still not a fan of apple. The only reason i have the ipods is because of the available accessories ......I think my 30gb zen is a way better unit with a much better interface.

I guess it's all about what you enjoy, I personally can't stand then Zen or most of the other Creative products, but I know people that swear by them. On the same side there are things I don't like about my Ipod but for me it's the best of what's out there.

Being an long time Apple user I have to say that I've had more problems with my video iPod freezing than I ever did with my 2nd gen which survived a being submerged in water and a flight down the stairs. It seems to me like their product quality has decreased a bit.
