Do not cross the line, do not go over 40 MPH, or do so at your own risk.

You will also be targeted since you drive a sports car. Just watch out.

I was down there last month, but didn't have enough time to hit the Dragon. Trying to get down there again this summer.

I've never been but i know people who have. One thing the focuses can boast, especuially SVT's, is good road handling. I know a bunch of VA and Carolina people on my focus forum who have done it and said its awesome. I also hear bikers go down like crazy when they underestimate the dragon. If you go, be sure to get soem video!!!!

yeah cars are annoying as hell when we go down on our bikes. they are always in the way.

certain times of day, the cops are all over the place, other times you might see only one on the whole section.

but the cars.... they suck. haha.

there is no feeling like going around a corner with your knee on the ground knowing that if you dont make the corner, you have a long drop down the side of the road.

We have run through there twice with the BABE rally. We will be back this year too. There are some really fun roads in the area. Your experience will vary depending on which groups decided to show up that day. The first year there were a ton of Harleys and they slowed us down in our conversion van. Last year there was far less traffic.

You have to watch out though since it is a US highway, and there are trucks, boats, and RV's that take the road. I have seen many boats on trailers and even a couple of class A motorhomes on there. The longer vehicles take up a lot of space and many curves are blind.

I went last year for 4 days with my 636, and I'm going back this summer for an entire week. Its amazing. Make sure you hit the Cherohala Skyway. It's not as heavily patrolled, the scenery is amazing, and its full of fast sweepers. Go exploring for a bit, there are some more amazing roads down there, the road after the Foothills Parkway as your going up to the dragon on 129 is a great one, it takes you back into Maryville, TN.

If you do end up going there are 3 Photography companies down there that do nothing but take rolling shots of people as they go through certain turns.

I found some from our group at all of these.

Also check at the resort, they have cards from all of them, plus there may be a few more that I forgot about.

son of a! is that the rotary rally? or somethin?

ill be in CT racing at lime rock, the reason why i started the thread was bc my good friend from hs is gettin married in june down in VA and i figured, since ill be halfway there, might as well go the other 6 hrs to get down there bc its a great chance. id neevr make the 11-12 hr drive "just for the heck of it" but since ill be in va with my car...why not, ya know?

i plan on drivin the road sunday mornin around 5-6 am so hopefully itll be low on traffic? from what many of u have said is for me to be supercareful and not drive like a moron. so that is duely noted...

i wish i could bring a buddy to come with, maybe take some shots, but no one is crazy enuff to ride that huge drive.....
