Carpet Re-dying

Anyone have any experience with re-dying their carpets? My 240's carpet is pretty nasty.. it could need a cleaning and re-dying. Any recommendations on products or good ideas?

Thanks!

Or I could re-dye the one I have, like I asked. 10 dollars and some time < 100+ dollars for an OEM carpet.

If you're gonna do something DO IT RIGHT!!! Did the person that swapped the motor just use some $10 part to cut costs when a OEM Part would've been better? NO! they probably didn't. Stop being a cheap bastid and do it right!!! Hell I'm sure you can even find some aftermarket companies that make carpets cheaper than OEM.

i heard Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Paint works great but i think ur better off finding carpet from a pignose 240 the carpet from those cars are alot thicker and better looking then the light gray chuki ones. sadly i have a chuki one and the guy a bought it from didnt use floor mats so its all messed up new floor mats does wonders tho

yo doug, forget all that crap. just pick up a new carpet from Stock Interiors the carpet in my car and Andie's car is from this place. the quality is better than 13 year old OE carpet and they're on the east coast iirc

Thanks for the link Dan.. but the carpet isnt THAT bad.. it's just smelly and has some stains, it's actually in pretty good shape.. not ripped or torn. I'm trying to save a few dollars and the re-dying process is pretty easy and cheap, I threw this thread up to see if anyone had used any products and got good use out of whatever they used, or not.

we have vynle plastic carpet dyes at ardex, its real easy to use, its a spray paint. Plenty of colors, the trick is, to spray in light layers and keep breaking the fabric so the hairs dont stick together, come up on a saturday and i can show you

Yeah.. I've heard some things about that stuff. Does it rub off when it's dry? I heard some products do, some don't.

I'll let you know, I have everything but the seats out so far, so I'll be taking the carpet out tonight or tomorrow. I really just want to get the stink out of the car and keep it fresh. It may be just a track car type, but I still don't want it to be nasty.
