Thumbs down I have the WORST luck with getting bum parts

I DEFY anyone to have worse luck than me...

Brand new cams, in use for less than 30 min. SECOND set.

The cam lobes are supposed to be facing AWAY from eachother.

The dowel pin that goes in the sprocket snapped off. Cam spun at least 180* causing no compression, which is why the car shut off. Now I just have to guess how many valves I bent.

im the last person to be giving cam advice, but maybe one of them is 180 out? or both????????????

do they have timing marks on them? like on the cam gear at all? did the gears come assembled onto the cams when u opened the box or did u have to put them on? if u had to put them on are they machined ina way that they can only be put on one way??????????

First set of cams I purchased from the SAME company were 13* off center, causing my timing to be so screwed up I dyno'd 277whp at 22psi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moments later my motor blew.
Who thinks I should take a trip to Cali and burn down said company??

The cams have pins in them, with the motor at TDC there is only one way they can go in. Everything was lubed and torqued to spec so there is no other reason for this to happen but the cams were made of butt cheeks.

I already called about the first set of cams. People get real defensive when you suggest anything but them being the best at what they do. So I let the first one slide.

Already left a message and sent an email with all the pictures. They need to give me a free stroker kit and build this engine so I can sell the car.

I bet you only tapped 1 and 4. I'v had adjustable cam gears break on me a few times. Usally you just tap a few valves and it's a pretty simple fix considering what happened.

I agree that BC needs a beat down....Do work!

Is there any scoring on the cam caps? This happens sometimes when people switch around cam caps and the cams actually seize in the caps enough that it will cause the gear to rip itself right off the camshaft and break the pin. Did you check the cam to cam cap clearances? Also some other part of the valve train that is binding may cause the cam to bind up as well. One other possibilty is that the cam gear bolt didnt get torqued properly and came loose.

That really sucks. JWT all the way. Get your money back and get yourself a set of S4's and be done with it.
