Shot Some Deer

With my new camera of course. Went to Valley Forge on Monday with RichK and S4toSti, was my first time really digging in with my D40. Lighting was pretty much perfect and there were a bunch of deer chilling close by.

C&C are welcome, be mean if you need to I want to get better. Here are the few that came out okay, just did a crop and minor curve/color adjustments.

1.

2.

3.

Shot with a D40 and a 55-200, #1 was with a 70-200VR.

I also like number one. You did a pretty good job with the new camera. We'll do some more shooting soon. BTW, Barry, where are your pics? I'm waiting to see what you were able to grab with the 70-200 VR.

Damn. I was getting all ready for some venison. Deer pictures. Next time, bring your guns instead of Barry.

The first one looks great! I was out there yesterday afternoon but the results sucked, I shot 90% at ISO 1600 by accident and the 17-35 was limiting me. How did you like the 70-200?

Thanks for the compliments everyone, number 1 is probably the best one I got that day. The 70-200 was awesome, I liked that lens a lot. Although if you are looking for a more affordable lens the 55-200 was also great to shoot with and really light.

And Poolmike, my apologies. My mom actually said the same thing to me when I got back, hahaha.

How much was the 55-200 lens? I also got a D40 and im loving it, but i want another lens to play with other than the 18-55 that comes with it.

To be honest, I'm not sure. My dad got it for Christmas for his D70, and I think they got it at a discount because they bought it at the same time as my D40. I want to say it was around $250. (BTW my 55-200 is not the VR)

Thanks for the compliments everyone
