Montgomery County Cell Phone Poll

My contract has expired and since I just moved out here, was curious what providers are being used out here. Sprint has seemed "Iffy". At times I have full bars on my phone. Next minute I am down to the last one. Had a dropped call once too.

So....I have a good current plan right now with Sprint as far as price and service. Just checking how the service has been for everyone using Sprint, Cingular/AT&T, and Verizon.

Thanks for your help gang and feel free to speak your mind so everyone gets an idea.

to me, the only thing that would make one company different than another is if they had a significant, very obvious difference.. something that they did above and beyond another company. with cell phone providers, you just don't see those kind of differences, that's just the way it is. in 2007+, you see such a common ground among cell providers, everybody has a ton of towers for reception, everybody offers the same calling features, etc.

the only thing that should sway your decision about which company to go with should be the bottom line.. total cost of service for those two years+. a small part could also be which company has the rights to which phones (i.e. cingular with the iPhone)

for me, it's cingular (or AT&T until they switch back to cingular AGAIN? lol). cingular has been decent for me, no real problems. reasonable rates, good service, no 'dark' spots in coverage. overall i'm happy with them.

Avoid sprint. I have friends with it, who hate it.

Cingular/at&t is the best for the area. I've had it for at least 3 yrs now, and pretty much no dead-spots at all.

I've got nextel, and my family has sprint/nextel. Either way, they always seem to have service. Verizon also always has service (my girlfriend has full service in my basement, nobody with sprint/att does.

IF I actually liked talking on the phone, I would get Verizon. For the area, I don't think that there is a better service provider available. Verizon, at least in the area, is without a doubt the best provider.

I used to have Cingular, but was forced to switch when I went to college in newport, RI... there arent any cingular towers in that city. Cingular was the best- i had service EVERYWHERE in PA.

Now I have verizon. I dont get service AT ALL when Im home. And they f*ck up my bill EVERY SINGLE MONTH.

Go with Cingular.

Yeah, Providence is a city of a million people and change- all companies will get great reception there. Its the suburbs that are the real test for reception.

When I had cingular, I used to get full bars in my bedroom, which is underground (basement) in the middle of nowhere. Now I cant take a phone call anywhere in the house.

I have had both Verizon and Cingular here. I think I like my Cingular best. Some places over in Collegeville/Eagleville my Verizon wouldn't work well.

i worked for Cingular/T-mobile and now I work for Sprint/Nextel. In my opinion the order goes like this....

1. Cingular
2. Verizion
3. Sprint
4. Nextel
5. T-Mobile.

I stopped selling t-mobile in September and I have never had MORE returns bc of no service than with T-mobile. Sprint/Nextel is REALLY hit or miss with ppl. It really depends on your house/work and where the tower is close to you. Some people love it and the other ones hate it. Ppl cannot get away from the Nextel 2-way so they stay thru the bad service. I personally have Cingular. I do drop calls but not often. Everyone will have dead spots. it is def the most popular all around here. I think if you know a lot of ppl with 1 service then go with that (my WHOLE family and at least 1/2 of my friends has Cingular now) so its free to talk to them.

Anyone need a Sprint/Nextel phone or accessory let me know and I can see what I can do.
