AMS 50 trim vs. Buschur FP3065

Allright DSM and Evo guys what do you think and why? I am leaning towards the Buschur due to price and I like Dave and the Buschur crew. But the AMS kit is pure sex from the manifold to DP!

AMS 50 Trim = http://www.amsperformance.com/store/...roducts_id=805

Buschur Racing FP3065 = https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...2de94e1ec1333d

From taking a quick look at the kits I like the Buschur kit better already. It comes with the bigger wastegate with the better flange design and a FP turbo. I have never heard any problems with the FP turbos and I heard there customer service is top notch.

What injectors are you going to run? 880's + ?

Edit: I'm going along with above. You can probably build a kit for much cheaper.

Well for one I want it to look tits and you can't go wrong with either kit. If you can find me a setup with a nice tubular manifold then go ahead and post it up.

And to 95Nracer, yes 880's are still tunable on the factory ECU without idle issues as seen with 1000's from what I have researched.

What are your goals?

50 trims are great pump gas/street turbos.

The FP3065 will make around the same or maybe a little more power on pump gas as the 50 trim, but with slightly more lag. But it will really shine with race gas, unlike the 50 trim.

I currently run the FP3065 on my GSX and previously ran a 50 trim. I like both turbos, but definitely am a lot more happy with the FP3065.

I plan to street/track the car and with gas prices in Europe pump gas is the only option for me. I am looking for 400-450.

1000cc's can be used with the ecu if the tuner knows what he's doing. Sean Ivey can do it. My opinion, I would go with the Buschur kit. Aren't they still having a special sale on those kits?

The 50 trim is a nice turbo, i have one on my DSM right now, but i think you might be able to save some money by peicing it together.
I'm sure that in the coming weeks, there will be all kinds of killer deals on turbo's, manifolds, and other stuff that will bump your price down by ALOT!
I got my 50 trim, non ballbearing, for 850, my aftermarket cast manifold (mainly for durability reasons)for 250, slim line fan for 125, wastegate off of ebay for 120(used, but still a tial) O2 housing for 250(punishment racing), made my own midpipe from parts from an exhaust shop($40 in pipe, 20 bucks for a vband offa ebay, and 60 bucks for a flexpipe). That is most of the kit, and i still had enough left over to buy injectors, fuel pump, and a regulator for my setup.
Keep your eyes peeled in the next few weeks for sales from vendors across the WWW.

I hear what you guys are saying but I really don't want a custome hack-job of used parts and a lot of time. I would rather go with a complete kit and spend one day installing it then get injectors and a tune and be done with it. I am looking to buy an upgrade before spring hits so I have some time to search around. Thanks for all your input.

Used parts are a way better buy, and if you want those numbers off meth and race gas a 50 trim won't really cut it

I am still saying a 30r kit but I would look at other more moderatly priced kits, ams stuff is nice but there is a lot I dislike about it and I have the same to say about buschur kits, there are a lot of kits out there, if I didn't get a great deal however I would piece something together for a fraction of the price, don't get caught up in all the ams buschur hype they are overpriced and not really worth it.

Go ahead and post a link to what you feel is a good deal.
