Motor Trend's rumors dept must not have anyone paying attention...

http://www.motortrend.com/future/spi...8_pontiac_gto/

Look at the dates of the car, when its supposed to be in show..etc..

Not to mention there's been no mention at all in Australia of a New Monaro (yet).

lol..got my hopes up..then I realized I saw the drawings ~1.5 years ago.

There are no plans for either as of the press release of the G8.

Yeah that is a little more Firebird then GTO but the two always did look similar. I'd be happy with a retro GTO based on the 68 Body style. Wouldn't be too hard to change that fugly new Camaro to look like it.

Eh..I'm not too into retro to be honest, but had I have to pick, i'd pick 66/67 in a heartbeat. So clean compared to that 68-70 bodystyle which was just a crazy Enduro bumper on a Chevelle (yes, I know they are the same bodies.)

I dig the enduro, but then again I have never been big on chrome. I love the 67 body style for the original but I don't see them pulling that off on a newer car and still having it look good. But to be proven wrong on that would be a blast lol.

That kinda resembles a G35 with the back of it with the front end of an early 90's Grand Prix.

not really always, lol.

The only looked similar for a couple years back in the 60's. Other than that the two looked nothing alike

Even when they looked similar, they were easy to pick apart

the rear lights are different and the slope of the hood are different. It the firebird and the camaro that spent a lot a time looking alike

I could see the front of that "drawing" being a firebird, but not the rest. The lines just don't match it. It's got a sweet aggressive front end, but a purse-toting body. That car hopefully will never go into production.
