i just wanna know somethings lol. are you guys required to go thru all the bs speeches and such when someone is buying a laptop, tv, etc...? seriously i went to best buy to buy a laptop, got the sales person and told them exactly this...

"hey man i want to buy this laptop right here, i dont want the extended warranty, or any of that anti spyware **** geek squad puts on it."

this guy must have been deaf because i sat there for about 10 mins listening to this guy talk about the same crap i didnt want, and tell me this isnt a good laptop to edit photos on. i was about the punch the guy in his face lol. sorry i had to bitch about that. because im always straight up with sales ppl and tell them exactly what i want and dont want.

I was a rep in BB adn CC for about 2-3 years. The BB near me (Springfield) always seemed to have the managers that nagged the most. I would always hear them asking "Why didn't you get the 27 year protection, and sell all of these overpriced accessories". For the most part I think the sales people go through the whole bit to keep their managers off their backs (somewhat at least). The guys on the floor have nothing to gain from selling you that crap, it's their whiney managers that do.

You might also run into MR. COMPUTER himself who thinks he knows the best computer for everyone since he has built his own computers for years. These guys are a bit more difficult. All you have to do is tell them "This is the computer I want. I don't want anything with it. Either you're going to sell it to me, or I'll go elsewhere to buy it".

Keep in mind, with BB you can always pitch a fit to a manager and come out with a free gift card just about every time.

there was a thing online not to long ago about some guy taking the hard drive out of his computer and sending it to geek squad to see how long it took them to find the problem and fix it, they held it for a couple of days and then told him they had to send it out

I worked at Circuit City for 2 years, couldn't tell you how many people came in pissed off after having to listen to the BB guys across the street, lol.

hahaha yea exactly what happened to me. the guy was like well ummm vista takes a lot of memory and if your editing pics the laptop will be too slow. im looking at him like dude lets go. why is this advertised as a gaming computer? ****ing moron. i have no problems with my 3008x2008 pics thank you very much. telling me i should buy this more expensive model and have geek squad put all this crap on my comp that i dont need. thats what i have friends for. to get that **** for free son! hahaha. lol i guess he was figuring i dont know anything and i would have all that **** put on my laptop, which in turn, would make it slow as hell. ah whatever i love this thing.

A. It doesn't matter they are all the same only the names are different.

Two other guys jumped in and explained to him that he was wrong, and what a processor was lol. I then said screw it and just built my own lol.

I used to work there, I didn't give 2 sh*ts if people bought the extended warranty or not. My sales kind of went like

Customer: I want this laptop
Me: here ya go, you want extended warranty?
Customer: No
Me: cool, have a nice day.

I'm not getting any commission so why should I bust my arse trying to sell something they don't want in the first place.

thats funny, like four years ago when i needed a new one i went to gateway's website and picked out the best factory re-man i could find (at about less than half price) and now regular laptops are JUST starting to catch up in processor power etc. two trips to iraq and its still chuggin right along!
