If its a gaming rig, ditch the mobo and get a separate video card.

I figured that, hmmm, I would but the mobo is with a combo deal with the processor.

I am not a fan of the mobo or case. 1 HDD? Raid 10 or go home.
No really thats not a bad setup.

I had the burner, it held up very good. I rip movies on a daily basis and after 500+ dvd rips in about 6 months and it was fine. Area1320 now uses it. As for a gaming box, I don't see a video card. The onboard GeForce 7050PV isn't bad but I would think about upgrading that in the near future. Goodluck.

Yeah I will probably update in the future, I just didn't want to start off with crappy onboard video.

I have the case (the all black version). Your case will be hard-pressed to cool a processor that runs hot. Your cpu fan/heatsink will fit just fine. I'm running an X1950 in my case right now, ditch the onboard video b/c it sucks. The case rocks, despite its lack for air circulation. Count on having one of the open PCI slots for a fan. My rig is in my sig below, it all fits nicely in a ASPIRE Q-XPACK

I'm not a gamer so I don't know what specs you were trying to meet. but these are just my thoughts.

2.2Ghz processor? seems slow... 2.8 at least.... unless you are planning on running two of them. but still.

what video card? dual output is nice....

1680x1050 resolution on the monitor is good, thats what I got at work (I have dual screens though) and on my 15.4" laptop. I can't stand anything less then that. I just might consider a monitor that has a higher max resolution.

4GB of ram? seems excessive

DVD burner, I would look into dual layer burners. Lite scribe is pretty cool though.

But as i stated before, just my thoughts...

It's a weak processor, ask vertabreaker about the AMDs, he's a freak w/ 'em. I'm dual-core Pentium D with 2MB L2 x 2, but I can only run in single-core mode because my case is too warm

I'm more of a gammer too so when I built mine I went with an MSI P6n Platinum board and the Intel Q6600 chip (8MB L2 FTW lol). For the case I did an Antec Sonata III, not as many fans as some others but it's $150 with a 500 watt power supply. Definately go with a seperate videocard and if you are thinking of making it last for a while through upgrades you might want to consider a board that is SLI compatible. Not for nothing but you can get the Geforce 8600 really cheap right now and, with an sli board, throw in a second one down the road to have a pretty nice setup.

He won't need it because unlike your CPU, AMDs Cool & Quiet utility actually works and does its job ;)

Btw...how many cores are you running on? hahaha

Over all not a bad rig.

still not enough for a full-blown gaming rig, but would be half-decent assuming you get a nice video card with a high clockspeed.

vertabreaker said ditch the ghey mouse lol

Sure does beat buying an overpriced Dell or Alienware crapbox though.

Lol. I hate you.

But the mouse is kind of weak for gaming.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104178 is a better and cheaper option for gaming, or at least IMO it is. I use it for F.E.A.R. and having more buttons on the mouse is more usefull or at least I think so.

Just a FYI, that 'Brisbane' AMD cpu is like the Celeron of Intel.

All CPU, no cache, or decent cache with HIGH latency.

They didn't have all the parts I wanted. When I have it together I will probably update it every so often, I just need a good platform to start off on.
