alright so im starting ATC next week and i ordered a automotive meter.. i see what features it has and all but what exactly will i be using it for??

You need it to measure voltage, resistance, voltage drops, current. Automotive electrical SUCKS!! One of the worse things you'll ever have to work on dude. Diag involving a short is a PITA!

but the parasitic draw isnt too bad, i forget how i looked for that but i had a mazda 626 where the battery would die overnight like there was no tomorrow. i forget how i found it tho....i think i disconnected one of the battery terminals and put my two test leads between the terminal and the connector? its been a while....

i was so bad with electrical diag my work sent me to mazda's elect diag course in central jersey....i passed the course but i still think i leh blow

Pretty much. I personally love diagnosing electrical problems. Always a challenge. The funniest one is when the battery is so corroded on the top the parasitic draw is the battery actually draining itself.

yeah i am just finishing up electric one and i loved it....majority of the class hated it though if that means anything.

Diagnosing electrical problems isn't as hard as it is challenging...and rewarding when you do find the issue.

whoa. well, thats rare. Electrical diagnosis isn't supposed to be flat rate...but I guess parasitic draw is different. But one hour is effed up, you need to drive the car and let it sit for 45mins before you can even properly do a parasitic draw test. I guess properly is the optional word there.
