Well decided since it was a nice day I would get out and get some pics at a local area that backs up to a nuclear plant in new jersey. The focus is the girlfriends car.

Thanks, I try my best to keep them clean. Actually trying to get her to get some wheels, springs, mach 1 front lip, and exhaust for it. Mainly doing this just to dress it up and make it look better.

i know. but my car is an import. the motor is an FS-DE not ZE and my vin starts with a J so its from japan.

anyway, were talking bout a focus and a cavalier here... not an escort.

and yes i know all bout the escort and protege having the same motor.

yeah the focus and the cav........ 2 BASE model rides. The focus has no options other that rear defrost. Doesn't have power locks, abs, cruise, nothing. Did add remote start, put a cd player in it, added a gauge cluster with a tach, painted the mirrors, and waiting to paint the spoiler and install.

How about brakes, are they the same too?

Also, the Escort used Mazda engine, tranny, etc, etc...not the other way around.

And for your refernce, the earlier (early 90's) Proteges/Escorts were identical platforms. The BJ platform is different from them, and there is no "escort" for them to be identical to, no? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyways, nice pictures...I like the location.

o I have a Zetec, 100% ford...and either way around..his cars part Escort. I know i have a Japanese transmission....its the only part of the car that cant take the stock TQ the car makes. And I can use the MX3/Protege strutbar on my ZX2 and the Mazdaspeed struts....I have no idea what thw BJ platform is.

BJ platform is the platform of his car.

Whatever, it's all semantics. It's smart anyways, saves costs, etc, etc, etc...good for all.

my car is a base model - and it came with like 130WHP :P

crank windows suck and i miss having a sunroof... but its light, and yes thats just the regular junk 240 owner excuse :-/

clean cavi is better than a POS cavi i think - so u have a leg up ;)
