says B18C is the SiR, wikipedia says jdm type-r, and many other places list it as jdm type-r and jdm gs-r, so who is correct? |

All jdm gsr's and type r's are stamped with B18C. The one way to tell which engine you have is by the cylinder head or the trans. If the engine swap is complete and has not been put together from random parts. The intake manifolds are a quick way to tell or the groves on the intake cam shaft by the distributor. The trans if its an R trans it will be stamped on the front LSD unless it has been cleaned off. You can remove your axles to see if the dif is open aswell. Hope this helps!
