So I was driving in Philly earlier tonight, and not paying attention, I ran a red light.

Well, some asshole cop noticed me making an honest mistake and decided to ruin my night. Reds and blue's flashing away, he even called up a second cop, for back-up I guess

.

He comes up to the window acting all like a hardass as I asked him how he was doing, and asks for my license/reg/insurance. I proceeded to ask why he pulled me over, and he said, "Don't you know what a red light is?" I was being all smooth and all, so I told him that I was half way in to the intersection and had no choice other then to go (yea right!!!).

Well, I didn't have my insurance card on me so the cop gave me some ****ty attitude, even though I apologized.

15 minutes later, he came back to me saying that I match a description of "someone" who has caused problems in the area. I filled out some form and he went back to his car.

Another 10 minutes later, he came back up to, said....

"Well, you're one of the nicer people that I've pulled over today, so here's what I'm going to do. You didn't have an insurance card, but I know you have insurance. I'm going to let that one go. You ran the red light, you and I both know. There isn't much I could do about it, so this is what's going on. I'm going to let that one go. However, did you look at your inspection sticker??? It's 6 months old, get on that! I have to give you a ticket, but if you get it inspected, I'll drop it, as well as the court. Here's everything back, sign this, and have a great weekend."

"Thanks officer, I appreciate it and apologize for my stupidity. Have a good one."

Yep, cops are all assholes.

So anyway, I have an $85 ticket for something that I was bound to get anyway, for my own stupidity. I SHOULD have gotten more, but good for me, every cop that I have encountered has been nothing but nice. I'll just pay the $85 over going down to that zoo though.

On a side note, at least he didn't check the trunk. He would have really thought something was up! I just got back from picking up an AR, had one of my other rifles in there for trigger work, 4000 rounds of ammo, and $2000 rolled up in to the mag well on the AR.

I surely would be spending my night in jail until that got straightened out!

You missed the news that 9 out of 10 tst kids hate cops because they (the kids) do stupid ****, that's all. I'm not one of them (that hates cops, I do stupid ****).

oooo I hate cops too...every time I get pulled over I have to take an odd breathalyser and most of the time I am not even drinking

yea man. I really dont get why people get all touchy when it comes to being pulled over. I mean obviously if you get pulled over, its for something you did. I am ALWAYS nice to officers, even if I just see them at wawa. You never know when you might see'em again, ya know? I've gotten out of power sliding through an intersection going left, WHILE cutting off the cheif of police for downingtown lol. Just because I was really polite and told them I was just learning to drive manual lol.

yea for people like him who have ar's and a **** load of ammo in their trunk, only difference is that he doesn't hate cops enough to open fire like some of them crazies you see on TV.

I don't hate anyone enough to open fire on them with my ar's, nor would I fire even if I did hate them. Now if they were a home intruder or attacker, my handgun would be the one for the job. I think it's good that there are always two cops on scene, I was just (as the rest of the post was) being sarcastic (though 100% true, and I have the inspection ticket somewhere in my car...I think, hopefully I didn't throw it out with the Gino's trash!). But anyway, more deaths are caused by dumbass drivers/year in the US than guns. So basically, what you are saying is that "people like him" should refer to everyone pulled over.

But anyway, this thread sucks. I just figured that people read a post before responding
