Im new to the HDR thing, bare with me...

The other day i went out and shot a good amount of pictures to try out photomatix with and attempt HDR. It seems like every picture has a gray haze over my hood area, where it should be white. Im not sure if this is something that could be fixed in photomatix by messing with some of the settings because im still new to it, but i took the photo in photoshop and did some minor editing there but its still not like it should be i would think.

heres some of the photos before and after examples:

i know its not the best, i can tell that. im just looking for pointers. Maybe i just shot the picture at the wrong time of the day (7pm), could be lighting issues??? idk.

lol yeah see i didnt do too much editing to that one when i loaded it the lighting was very poor so i couldnt really tell.

It looks like you are just adjusting a single image, correct?

Try using a tripod and taking multiple pictures. With each photo you want to keep the aperture the same (hopefully you can control this), but slowly change the shutter speed one stop at a time. Some people even suggest going from an almost white picture to an almost black picture adjustment wise. This will give you a wider range and will allow you to merge them together. If you can use photoshop, it's HDR merge utility works well.

I totally agree here. More photos you take the better. Also don't use the full strength of the HDR software along with always max color saturation. Play around with the sliders., I'm guessing you done this already.

If you don't mind post up a unedited image.I'll take a crack at it.

Ok i used a tripod, and took 5 photos (bracketed -2,-1,0,+1,+2). ill post all 5 real photos so we can seee what different outcomes look like. I dont really like using the HDR in photoshop because i dont see an out come that ever looks HD.

i tried it out with pictures from this shoot actually in photoshops HDR and this is what i got.
