OK, so the guy did something in 1984 to warrant the death penalty. Obviously failing in the typical 30 or so appeals, his death sentence was carried forward. He was a hard-core intravenous drug user. Mom is now suing Washington State because it took a long time for him to die.

Shouldn't the state file a countersuit because the mom raised a monster of a human being, who did drugs, and committed a murder (the only thing yuo get the death penalty for in WA State)?

Shows what kind of person she is for suing the state. IMO, She is pretty much saying that it was ok that her son was a murdering druggie and didnt deserve what he got. (based off what you said...i didnt read the article).

The link is broken. You could do in mainland china style, death by firing squad and if you have any complaints the firing squad is the complaint department as well.

Yes, makes no sense.....good thing this isn't several other countries..the ACLU protects prisoner's rights better than many other countries protect regular (non-criminal) person's rights.

All this talk of a "humane" execution so the prisoner doesn't needlessly suffer...poop - what about the girl he raped and killed; or the old couple he beat, robbed, and shot? or the store clerk with a wife and 4 kids who was killed when the robber already had the money?

Makes me sick.

I hope she loses and is forced to pay court fees.

But since Washington is hippie town USA I am going to bet she wins a lot of money and the hippies will cheer and call it a victory for human rights.

Just read the article. It is not cruel and unusual nor a violation of civil rights in my mind. They were unable to properly execute him due to his own choice of intravenous drug use. They didn't force him to do the drugs that led to a collapsed vein or the build up of scar tissue.

Here's another one, on a lighter note. This lady works for a company that openly exploits young women and has been the subject of many a lawsuit for it, but she claims that they harassed her...perhaps in not supporting and working for a company that exploits women, she could lead by example..
