Want a memorable first date... what was yours.. suggestions....

Looking for ideas on something special. Dont want to do the same old , tired, tried and true dinner and a movie, etc. I'm looking for something unique and special. I want to hear other's experiences but also want to use them/hear suggestions. Preferably things in the Philadelphia area and the sorrounding burbs, ie Bucks, Bensalem, etc.

Just watch some porn with her at your house. Serve some chicken nuggets and cheap vodka. Make sure it is a 70's porn with a huge bush though.

I know you want it in the area, but a train ride up to NYC is a good idea

I dunno, movies and dinner with a little wild ride in between has always worked very well for me.

There really is a lot of stuff to do there! First of all, what is your budget like? What is your and her preference of types of food? Top of the empire state building is always a good one. It is like $20 a person, but she will never forget it!!!! As long as it is light out a walk in central park and then dinner at the Tavern on the Green is awesome. (Tavern on the Green is some $$$ though for you newbs)

I like the Dave and busters idea, if you are keeping it close. It is a lot of fun, but you end up blowing a lot of cash there and it is no where near as memorable as the view from the 80 some story observatory at sunset/night.

What kind of food are you two into? I got a really good idea, I am trying to find out the name of the place though

Trip to the borgata. Nite life and bars are cool. Could gamble a bit then hit the clubs. Always a good kick start.

Dave and Busters is cool but we're both under 21.

Food wise, I'm okay with anything as long as its not too spicy and not crazy exotic or I'll be dropping dueces the whole way home.

a first date doesn't need to be a train ride to NYC and spending tons on food and entertainment and BS like that.

The first date I had with my girlfriend, going on over a year now:

Went to Bowman's Tower via the Flower preserve... hiked up the hill on memorial day. We were both sweaty and disgusting when we got to the top.

Went to get water ice after that. So far that was about 2-4 hours total.

Went from there to a friend's BBQ that I was invited to while on the date. Spent time there eating and drinking.

Total first date was about 11 hours, including driving time. I spent way less than $100 for the day, including gas.

I made it a habit when dating to keep first dates cheap. I want to get to know the person, not buy a second date.

K.I.S.S.

Expensive first dates are a waste of your money. Spend your money on your girlfriend, not a random chick you want to impress.

a roundtrip ticket to NYC isn't expensive, and if you grab a bite to eat at a regular place and go visit the empire state building or something touristy like that, it's still not a lot of money

I totally agree with that, the whole point isnt to make it expensive or anything but memorable , if that costs money then its fine. We already know each other well enough, all the ground work is there, if anything I'm sure whats going on is gonna last for a while thus I want the first date to be something special and something to look back on.
