IAT Question

So I bought a new IAT sensor, cause mine was throwing a code. Well, idk where the hell the thing is located, so I'm looking around. Only thing I found resmbling it, is one off the back of the throttle body, but when I removed that one, the one wire to the plug was cut/ripped/snapped whatever you wanna call it. So maybe that's why it was throwing a code? But the plug on the new one, doesn't match the old one, and it also doesn't fit in the throttle body hole, soooo did I get the wrong sensor, or did I remove the wrong one?

I never owned a 2G eclipse, but I am pretty sure that every car I have ever owned the IAT sensor was in the air box.

It shouldn't be a problem, but I dont have my license yet so I can't say for sure. I know when I put an intake on my car a just put a hole in it and mounted the sensor in the piping.

Nah, cars can pass with a non-stock intake. Should be no problem. Did you try posting this on a DSM forum?

I believe there was a recall on that wiring harness. If you want me to run a carfax on it to see if there are any open recalls, I can. If not, call up the dealer and see if there are any ones open.

A quick google search came up with this:

Fix the wire, reset the battery, and drive it for a day, highway and all. Use a scanner from autozone to see if the code came back.
If the code comes back, which i doubt it will, replace the sensor.

So I'm gunna try and explain my problem...

When I pop it in nuetral, my rpms idle up to like 1500-2000k. And then eventually drop back down. It does this when I come to stops, idk what it is, maybe pvc valve? I heard its a cheap part, if so, how hard is it to change?

Also, my car runs AMAZING when its cold, runs like a champ, but as soon as it warms up, it gets jumpy again.

My IAT sensor is throwing a code, but from what I've read, there in your stock intake tubing, so do I not have one now?
