Help me sort the mess that is...brake pads

here is the situation: I am looking for better brake pads for my 06 Impreza 2.5i

What will i use them for: I want better overall brake pads that i can occaisionally use for autox.

I've been searching rs25 and nasioc and been reading sites such as carbotech, stoptech, hawk, and ebc but i can't tell what i really need. Any suggestions?

IMO the best daily driving pads... Hawk HPS.. they hold up to a lot of abuse and they are aggressive enough to do a bit of auto x

you don't need anything 'more' for autoxing.
the recommendation for hps will do for an increase in pad characteristics.

hps is good and i have personal experience with ebc green stuff on my old POS car and those things were real good, but u just gotta be careful with more agressive pads bc they will eat into the rotors more, more dust, more noise, wear faster, etc etc etc

and the condition will intensify with even more agressive brakes. i have to scrub my wheels every 2 days, no joke

I have Hawks, my buddy has stoptech on his RS and my other buddy has EBC greens on his audi. They all work well.
Hawks = more break dust then others
EBC green = no real issues
Stoptechs = needed an extra shim on my buddies 02 rs. they squeeked with out it.

all will perform within the same range. so whatever you can get teh best deal on would be the way I'd go.

Or you could simply go OEM too. I don't think that Auto-X puts too much stress on them for the stock pads. But i have never tried to autox a 2.5i.
