Does this really work? Will it damage paint?

I heard it was a frozen rag. some Corvette guy told me to heat up the spot where the dent is then smack it wet towel style, on that spot with a cold rag and it will pop out. about your paint, you got me on that one cuz I'm assuming heating it up wont do it any good.

I couldn't really see the dent in the first place, it couldn't have been that bad.

there is a better technique ( imo )

get a heat gun and a can of computer duster, hit the paint with the heat gun for a few second ( you want to heat it up, but dont do it to long or you will bubble the paint ) then hold the duster upside down so it sprays liqud c02 and cover the dent with the icey co2, then just wait for the pop and clean up
