Yea the M3 has launch mode and it's not a trick, I think it's in the user's manual lol. The only thing launch mode does is allow you to revv a little higher in an automatic before it takes off, something that is easily done in a manual.

Launch control is alright. It lets you rev to 1800rpm prior to dropping it into gear. Wheel spin is minimal and you just take off. It doesn't go to 5k on the Euro software either, so that part of it is wrong.

Easier trick is to just mash the gas. The revs will go to about 3k before it dumps. Then it's a matter of feathering the throttle to get optimum grip.

yep.. as these guys said. Its an oem launch control. The car has plenty of other silly features... hill assist is the first useless thing that comes to mind, lol.
