Sprint's wireless network is great. We have a ton of the Sprint cards at work, and I can usually get 1.5Mbps down at any time. Your speed will vary depending on the coverage of the area you're in.

don't do it. This companies are jerks who fight the development of free wi-fi access just so they can get rich.

I know FOR A FACT:

- Verizon
- Sprint
- Cingular
- T-Mobile (atleast last time I was in paying my bill they were talking about it)

All offer "Total WI-FI" cards...I'd do A TON of research on Google though...see the reviews of each.

I was looking into the cost of the verizon wireless broadband yadda yadda yadda for going any where with my lap top. Once I told verizon where I lived they said I was in a town that didnt get the highest speed. At this time last year the area where the highest speed for verizon was very random. You might want to check into all the compaines for range of service, not only cost.

Just a note too, make sure you are looking at their data network and not a map of their voice (GSM) network, since with most providers data coverage can vary from voice coverage.

Comcast is pretty good around our area. I also heard that Verizon FIOS was going to be coming to the Springfield area soon.
