Next Mod: pics inside

Stage 1. 37% more torque, holds up to 320 lbs of torque.

good enough for me.

edit: i ordered an lsd, but i ordered it welded. prevents breakage. My welded lsd comes in on monday, i should have my speed back no later then tuesday. hopefully.

sick! Just a question though, isn't a welded lsd gonna make it quite difficult to drive? I know on a RWD car it does, you get a lot of chirping/squeeling when taking corners, and it just handles bad, but I'd think it would be even worse on a FWD car...

$ 295 for the clutch on sale

$600 for the welded LSD

labor should be almost $800 plus a $100 off coupon

ordered online from NSN Motorsports and the lsd i got from Mazda3online.

I got the clutch so cheap because i actually did some searching. i went to many sites, they had them for $359 $349 $331. i asked NSN if they can beat there prices and even there own price, he said he'll give me the clutch for $295. i couldn't argue, ordered it right away.

how the hell is a welded diff going to drive like a oem? that thing is going to steer like **** since it wont be able to make up for outside and inside wheel speed.

the purpose the of the welded diff is just to prevent breakage under race conditions. it will act like oem, just it will be stronger then before.

not to be an ass, but do you know how a differential works? exactly what is welded to make it stronger?

The diff is not being welded close.Thats probably what you thought i meant, Mazda uses 3 crappy tack welds to hold the case together. by welding the diff case, its making the lsd stronger and preventing breakage unlike the oem mazda that has 3 tack welds, they can snap easily when racing.

welding the diff is an excellant upgrade for street use and highly modified engines. when i forge my block, i won't have to worry about snapping my diff. pretty much unbreakable unless you have some insane amount of power.

i'm just targeting about 400hp for my speed. nothing crazy, but i just want to be one of the fastest on the road.

here's what it looks like. somebody was kind enough to snap a picture of there welded lsd for there speed.

instead of 3 tack welds. its welded evenly all the way around.

i have really big plans for my speed. because all you see is fast honda this, fast acura that, fast 350z, fast G35, fast srt4's etc etc. when in the world do you see a fast mazdaspeed protege? i would like to be the first in my area.

i plan on getting the Thumper kit from Mental Addictions Motorsports. CP rod/pistons, perrin front mount intercooler, complete fuel setup which include wrx 440 injectors, perrin fuel rail, upgraded fuel pump, 626 intake manifold. just to list a few. i want my car to be unique, the kind of car that you'll be a stupid idiot if you steal it cuz nobody else has a speed like mines in the area. haha.

unlike honda's and acuras. ppl steal these cars everyday because you can't tell if the parts are stolen. sooo many people have the same parts.

edit: and i have something to say to some of you srt4 owners. not all of you, just some of you.

I hate you guys, you hand over a check to a dealership and you think your mr macho man trying to race everyone that you know 100% is slower than you. some of you actually hook them up very nicely and i drool at those stage 3 srt4's. but some of you are just plain assholes. i'm going to work hard on my car. god forbid i wreck it or whatever. but i want to pwn you srt4 owners like their no tomorrow. don't take it personal people. its just something i had in me that i had to blurt out.
