Most Expensive Thing You Bought...

Hi people. I was just wondering what was the most expensive thing you bought on eBay? I'm asking this because I just want to see who had experience on making a big purchase through Ebay. Could be anything bikes, tools (not people), motors, cars, etc. Also what was your experience? I'm not asking if ebay sucked. I'm just asking was it smooth? Thanks

My coilovers were about 800 or so, and I bought my front end and exhaust for a little over a grand.
I have only been scammed once, and it was on an xbox 360. Guy had perfect feedback up until my purchase, then he went down hill. Ebay covered it up to a point, but they only go so far. PayPal is trying to get the rest back, but I am not holding my breath.

32K for a car. 4.5K for another car. I was ripped off one time on ebay for a $85 item. That was a LONG time ago though. I believe it was back in 2000

I bought my Xbox 360 on ebay. The guy scammed me and about 10 others. Took about $480 bucks each (when they were still going for that) and ran.

Paypal only was able to recover $200 and they charge a $25 fee. It was a fight to get the guys information and it turned out to be fake also.

I bought my second 360 from a guy with 20,000 positive feedbacks... I now don't deal with anyone under 500-1000 legit feedbacks. If you look there seems to be a trend of people selling stuff for a penny to get their feedback up.

While I lost $280 and a ton of frustration. I have gotten other things... cell phones, etc. and sold stuff on there that makes up that difference 10 fold. Just opened my eyes and I am now safer.

In order to sell on Amazon you have to give a valid phone that they can call you at. They call you and you have to enter a pin. Still not fool proof, but atleast establishes some sort of tie.

Damn thats alot of stuff guys. I bought my car on eBay but I called the guy and settled it in person, not through the auction and that was it. Right now I'm just looking at engines and I just wanted to see if anyone else bought like an engine. I just get nervous sometimes because I hear of people getting scamed. Anyone else with a though?

i've bought a few things off ebay never got scammed. Paid like $250 for a ring that i got checked at a store round here to be worth over a 1000, bought random car parts, kinda got beat on an "AEM" intake for my eclipse which was not a true AEM but it did its job. My friend did get scammed on a $1500 camera and never got his money back though.
