General Exclaim UHP

Anyone have any experience with these? Tirerack has them for $58 a piece in my size, and they are rated #1 in the Ultra High Performance Summer category.

They are 380 AA A rated

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Exclaim+UHP

Thanks for any advice, as I am soon to be in the market for new ones, and maybe if these go on sale, Il just have an incentive to buy them.

this is not a track car, and i dont want to have to change them every season. They are rated #1 in their category, and have an AA traction rating.

Why did you even ask for advice. Just get the crappy tires. And #1 in what category?

Falken FK452s are good summer tires for the price. Then again I don't know if you want to have 2 sets of rims. Regardless, they haven't failed me yet and I love how they respond while they are at the limit, they lose traction really really progressively and you can correct a slide so easily. Love these things.

I'd probably go with Falkens, Yokohama, Kumho or Hankook here. But if ya wanna get them because they are reasonable, go for it and tell us how they do.

Why are you shooting for ultra high performance? If you want that much performance just go for max performance summer tires.

because there is a difference in paying 58 for what seems to be a great tire from its ratings and reviews, and paying 100+ per tire just so I can say im using falkens.

Those ratings are too subjective to really mean anything. At least in terms of true performance. All I know is that in one test they came in 3rd behind two other tires that are ok for a boring street car.

I drive a civic. It doesnt matter if I put 1000 dollar tires on it, its not going to handle amazingly. BTW that was one test. Hell I was surprised too, but for the ratings, it seems to be a very good tire

The yokahama prada were one of they're biggest mistakes as far as performance, but alot of people love the way they look..They are aimed for the honda crowd judging by they're sizes offered..However I would take them anyday over a general hankock.
