Looking for good Winter Tires

This is my first winter driving my car... im not used to driving in teh snow.. but when it comes down i want to have good tires! i currently drive a 2003 PT Cruiser... so front wheel drive = teh lose. also its manual... so i tend to peel out coming out of 1st then into 2nd when it rains... i know my stock tires are blah.. so here are a couple of tires i am looking into getting please help me with reviews.

wintersport m3s provide great dry performance as well as being able to handle their own in the snow. i'd suggest these or something similar because there is rarely snow on the road around these parts so you dont want to sacrifice too much dry performance and get a really hardcore snow tire, when maybe one day a month there is snow on the roads before it gets all plowed away.

Winterforce are dirt cheap. Really good in the snow & slush. Okay for ice. Squirmy when the road is dry.
