Vector Marketing (Cutco Knives)

Has anyone heard of this company?

$17/hour (I know it's per appointment) seems enticing. All I want to know is if I get my $150 security deposit back when I'm done with the company.

Yeah... I did it during my young and stupid days. The $150 is to cover the costs of the knives.

It does help you with your presentation skills -- valueable asset in the professional world.

The knives are great. One of these days, I need to buy a full set of knives.

^ Are you serious? All the things I've read on college forums about the company are negative. ie:
http://campusactivism.org/phpBB2/vie...b6690528eb3ea8
http://teamliquid.net/forum/viewmess...topic_id=41140

And, I've read that the knives they sell are made of low quality steel. But, did you get the deposit back when you returned the knives. And, how much money on average did you make a week? Who did you sell to? I'm thinking of selling to restaurants or other types of businesses since very few people would pay 500 bucks for a crappy set of knives.

I wouldn't try selling to restaurants; they probably won't set up an appointment since they know what Cutco knives are.
I have a bunch of friends who did it over summer breaks and stuff and made okay money. They only sold to family, friends, family friends, friends of friends, etc. You get paid per appointment so if you have lots of people you wouldn't mind pestering for their time it's not terrible. Some people (like my mom, who one of my friends presented for) don't plan on buying anything and end up buying the a knife or two because they're are pretty impressive.

I just think it would be frustrating. Go apply to be a waiter at a restaurant like Red Robin or TGI Fridays or something... they'll take people with no experience and it's hard work sometimes, but you can make $20+ an hour when it's busy. And it's all cash

Restaurants use industrial knives. My friends dad used to work for edwrad don as a salesman and sold the restaurants that stuff. They handeled everything from the table clothes to the glasses you drink out of.

i did it. but it didn't work out to well. I wasn't all that motivated. But he knives are actually good quality. they aren't as good as a wustoff or other name brand, but they are pretty darn good.

Screw that company.. they keep putting dumb flyers all over my car at school. I've called them twice and bitched at them, and told them I'm calling the police if it doesn't stop. Can I actually do anything by calling the police?

Yeah I think the company is crap but the knives are awesome. They are pretty close to my set of wustoff (almost).
