Yea, big improvement. Its tough to explain, but there are these moments where its like and interactive cutscene. At one point, I came around a corner and a German smashed me with his gun. Instead of taking normal damage, it goes into this button masher mode where you alternate slamming the left and right triggers like your wrestling his gun away from him, then finish him off with it. Its really cool looking.

As far as Multiplayer. COD2 was like Couterstrike, COD3 is more like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.
Generally it's better, but it really depends on the level, amount of players, and gametype. Some matches can really get annoying (The log cabin forest map with a whole team of snipers will have you pulling your hair out).
