vtec question

my boy has a f22 sohc prelude.. is there a sohc vtec that will fit his motor? dont the accords have f22 vtec will dat bolt up to his block

no actually the early 90s models had sohc engines. i dont know if they vtec though

No the 4th gen preludes that have an Fseries do not have vtec from the factory. The Prelude S had an SOHC making 135hp. The Prelude Si had a DOHC (non-vtec) making 160hp. And from 1993-96 the fourth gen also offered a model with an DOHC h22 vtec, which they continued to put into the 5th gens with minor differences.

Many people are now doing the f22 block with h22 head, they are calling it a gseries.

he got a 93 prelude.. like i said i really dont know much bout hondas so i had assumed dat his car was sohc. all i know is dat he has a f22..

Thats the B20A5. Nothing like the B20's of today. Tiny bore, long stroke, horrible rod/stroke ratio. Nothing useable on this motor, really.
