I didnt get a warranty from gamestop when i bought it 4 months ago. i thought microsoft had a year warranty on it but apparently not. Anyone else have this problem? is there anywhere i can get it fixed?

somebody once told me that if u turn it on and off like 30 times it will fix it. I know it sounds stupid but its there if u want it

Um yes it's called the Hard Drive is crap and dies...I would take it back to Gamestop and throw a huge hissy fit. Or, go to another Gamestop buy another 360 w/ warranty. Swap them, then go back and say you bought a dud.

Microsoft does have a 1 year warranty on it as long as you are the first owner and you have a receipt. I purchased my first 360 on EBAY on release day (and no, it didn't come with vasoline) and recently my power brick fried due to the house getting hit by lightning. Because I didn't have a receipt and couldn't prove the warranty was valid, I had to purchase another console. Homeowners insurance covered the new 360, so I have two working Xb360 consoles and 1 working power brick.

Then if Gamestop would refuse to cover it I would do my idea, go home and swap the entire case, then go back.

My friend did that for PS2, worked great. He also does tricks for other stuff too like get discounts and free stuff.

I've thought about it. Now I suppose I'll think about it some more... You would need a power brick ($80-100 on eBay), but I could probably let the console go for $250ish.
