first off, i don't know why my dad had all the work done in this order, but it's how we did it....took it to a tranny shop yesterday to see if it was the speed sensor in the transmission, it wasnt. so once i got it home today my dad and i popped the hood, took out the speed sensor located under there, found that the inner cable was snapped, bought a toyota speed cable from local shop for $10, did the quick swap, and problem solved.
