Literature...

Looking to buy some really good books on anything automotive right now.

Anyone have any good books they know of that they could reccomend? Looking for something technical but nothing that will make your brain melt.

The Carroll Smith Set, best money you'll spend. I think you can get the whole set of 5 books for under $100.

If you want suspension books, I can list a bunch, but depending on your background, most are a little too technical.

I dont care how technical they get as long as they don't get into calculus level stuff (which I can do no problem... I just don't want to have to dig into the crevices of my brain to remember it)

Alright well for suspension, you should start off with Race Car Vehicle Vehicle Dynamics by Milliken. There's also Chassis Design which is the notes of Maurice Olley published by Milliken and Milliken. I would stay start with that for suspension stuff and then if you would want something more specific there's a lot out there.

You could also check out my site. It's basically just a forum because I don't feel like making a real web site pages, but there's a ton of technical info on there. There's a bunch of SAE papers, all of the Mark Ortiz Chassis newsletter archives, my shock article that was just published in Drift And RWD Sport Magazine. It's all pretty much suspension based.
