What the hell is the point of graffiti???

I can understand the creative murals that some guys do, cause it can look really cool. That's not what i'm talking about. WTF is with tagging. You know, the barely legible crap that is usually just some guy's name. You see it all over the place. It has no artistic value, it sucks, and it makes our city look like ****.

The reason I ask, is because my car got tagged last night in old city. It came right off, but this asshole tagged all 4 of my Hellas. If anyone knows who "ABEL" is, kick him in the ****ing teeth for me.

Good thing that came off easily, I would've freaked when I saw that. Until I read it came off easily I was even mad and it's not my car.

As for why, no idea, but it sucks.

THe point of tagging is to get your name all over the place. It's like a battle. Your trying to put your name everywere.

Agreed. I've never heard of graffiti on cars though... well, people's daily drivers... tractor trailers are another story.

There was a cat back home in Scranton, circa 94, went under the tag Chico...he bombed up everything in the town. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing his name. He was also a hell of a Mortal Kombat player.

Haha...no it's not. You'v been watching too many movies. It has nothing to do with gangs or drugs. It's like a game. Most of the people puttin down "throw ups" are artists. Their trying to put their name in as many places as they can.

Yeah i agree with turbotagteam, but it still doesnt mean you have to put your tag on a car...doing it on a wall in the city, and is actually more then just a sharpie marker tag is art. But for vandalizing peoples property is just scumbags being ignorant.

Afreed, writing on someones car is stupid. I actually used to be really into graffiti hence my screen name. Its really about rep. The more places you can get up, the more rep you get from the graff community. I started getting into canvases and doing legal walls(murals) as I got older but now the car thing takes me away from all that.

Heres some older stuff I used to do in books for people. Books were used to pass around to people to collect drawings.

That's some nice stuff SpendOne. A friend of mine was into it, he used to bring books with him to class. He'd always be doing stuff in them. Now, who ends up with those books?
