Ha! Ha! Ha! NJ:Completely Catless COBB Stage2 Passed Inspection Today!

It was great! I went to DMV today for inspection in my WRX. I pull in and there is almost no one there. Immediately a few DMV workers with large grins crowd my car and tell me to put up my hood. They study the underhood for quite a while and dismiss me to the waiting area. They spend 15 minutes examining my car!!!! Walking around the car, popping the hood, peaking underneath. Finally, they finish exmining my car at the first check point and send it the rest of the way through inspection. At the end of inspection, the guy comes out with an expression like a baby who just got it's lollipop taken and slaps the pass sticker on it! I said "You guys musta had fun with my car.". The DMV guy mumbles "The other guy wanted to check it out because of the noise"

Here's what I did to prep for my trip to DMV:

I removed my license plate covers, loaded the COBB stock realtime map, closed the BOV, and took a wetnap and cleaned the soot out of the inside of the exhaust tips. To pass the visual inspection of the test, I took the heatshield off my stock catback and bolted it on to my Bosal mid-pipe. I had to use metal shears to trim a little to allow the 02 sensor to plug back in.

Once inspection was over, I pulled into a parking spot at DMV, reflashed Stage2 93 map, opened my BOV and took off!

When I switched to the stock realtime, it made the car noticeably quiter at idle which I thought would help keep suspicion down.

I hate you guys---I took off my dp, went to stage 1 and the guy told me my car was reading 'not ready' on the OBDII test. So I had to drive my car for a while until the sensors ran their cycles. 3 trips back to the shop later and its still not ready. Gotta take it in tomorrow and try again!

When i went there in my old WRX, i had HKS turboback completely catless also the cobb stage 2 93 octane map, the TXS RFL on it, cold air, and some other things. As soon as i pulled up, they did the same things examined my car inside and out, im like ****ting bricks because i thoght it was gonna fail, the stupid lady she was pulling her hair out, she tried to turn the car off, and i had the apexi TT it didnt shut off when she took the key out, and she was like WHATS THIS, and im like a TT push the e-brake down and pull it back up, and she was like ok, and bitched about it, but then she shut up. So anyways it goes to the test thing where they do the gas test thing, and i walked outside to answer a phone call, and the guy pulls it up, and i look and theres a new sticker slapped on the window, and the guys like "Oooo ya, your turbo sounds good and so does your car, i was like, it was nice examining it for 15 mins.. lol. I passed i think they are completely stupid there.
My friend went there with his 1987 nissan altima or w/e it is , and he pulls up and goes thru eveyrthing, and then he gets to the end and they put a fail sticker on it, and it was for... a WIPER BLADE being bad, i was like dude that sucks, then i told him the **** with my old car, and he was like **** you man. I think that DMV likes our cars Chris wat do yout think?

Not in my case.....I think these guys were smiling when I pulled in because I think they had a hard-on thinking they were gonna get to fail my car. Maybe I could be wrong. But they weren't not nice so who knows, maybe they do like our cars. A the end of the day, they're just regular guys like us trying to do their job the right way and get through the day.....

And for the record Delanco, not Delran is probably not the easiest one but better.Southhampton is horrible and Cherry Hill is Ok.

What I am scared about when i get my car inspected is the fact that my borla headers make the CEL go on randomly. If I drive the car for like 45 minutes continuously it will go on. I let the car sit for about 30 mins, drive it for like 5 mins, and shut it off, the next time I turn it on, the light will be gone again...

Wierd.

Unless you're motor is from an STi before 1996, then you're OBDII.
